There was a change in the format, where two and not just one team from each of preliminary groups qualified to the final. Top eight teams were seeded - at last! Seven of them went through. Schweppes won their fifth (!) consecutive title, again with a huge margin over runners-up C.I.D.A. while Unión Graciense Barcelona took bronze, even though they managed to win only one final match out of seven. |
