International Chess Tournament
in the Salone del Capitano del Popolo

The following countries will be represented: Argentina, Austria, France, Yugoslavia, and Switzerland.

With the participation of a strong group of foreign masters, the 1st New Year International Masters Chess Tournament of Reggio Emilia will take place from December 28 to January 4 in the Salone del Capitano del Popolo, made available by the EPT, and organized by the Reggio Emilia Chess Academy.

The event, for which a number of attractive prizes have been offered, will include representatives from Argentina, Austria, France, Yugoslavia, and Switzerland, as well as several of the best-known Italian chess players, among them the local Italian champion, Dr. Enrico Paoli.

The tournament has been organized by a committee composed of Dr. Egidio Pappagiari, president; Mr. Giuseppe Maiocchi, vice-president; and Dr. Enrico Paoli, secretary. The tournament director will be Rag. Vittorio Villani.
