On Sunday afternoon, the opening ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in the presence of the President of the IOC Mr Samaranch, the FIDE President Mr Iljumzhinov and the authorities of the city of Lausanne. It will be followed by a simultan played by GM Fressinet (France) and IM Harikrishna (India).
At 4 p.m. live on internet the first round:
Bu - Kosteniuk, Radjabov - Zhao, Aronian - Jenni, Volokitin - Ghaem Maghami.
 
The Masters Open, May 22-27
Participants: GM Graf, GM Baklan, GM Vladimirov, GM Bauer, GM Tukmakov, GM Adianto, GM Epishin, GM Kotsur and many other grandmasters. Some young talents are also participating such as Harikrishna (India), Drozdovskij (Ukraine), Cheparinov (Bulgaria), Efimenko (Ukraine), Baramidze (Germany), and Korobov (Ukraine).
