ABOUT US
Chess Sector was launched onto the www as of 4th August 1998. Chronologically, it's the second oldest Ukrainian chess site (after Lviv Chess Site) and currently the primary Ukrainian chess www-resource. The author and editor of this web site is Mikhail Golubev.
Why was this site created? Historically, chess information has been readily available on the World Wide Web. Nevertheless, Ukraine was not represented in the chess portion of internet until 1998. Therefore Chess-Sector.odessa.ua fills an important niche in the chess information medium.
As frequent visitors may have noticed, our site has been developing dynamically. This development will continue because so much remains to be done. Of course, your feedback is of great importance to us. Please share your opinions about this web site via E-mail: info@chess-sector.odessa.ua. SECTIONS
Odessa is one of the traditional chess centers of Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Feel welcome to acquaint yourself with our archive and information on recent events. The Ukraine section covers all important Ukrainian chess events beginning from August 4, 1998, when the site opened. An archive of the 90s' competitions is provided. Our International Chess News section presents information about selected important chess events. The Games section contains games, comments of grandmasters and other specialized chess data for browsing or download, as well as selected links. UkrBase is collection of chess games played in Ukrainian tournaments. Ruslan Ponomariov's Page presents the youngest GM in the world - 1998, «Ukrainian Chess Prodigy» Ruslan Ponomariov. Our What's New section lists important changes to the site. The newest items are located at the top of the list. Our Links section contains chess site addresses that have links to us.
