Original draw of this match was: Netherlands vs winners SCO-SWE. As Glasgow-Lund match did not take place (Lund did not receive invitation), FIDE expected explanations, which Lund did not send. So FIDE disqualified both teams and let Italy to play against the Netherlands. Lund filed official protest, claiming they did nothing wrong and were ready to play. Subsequently Netherlands withdrew and so the final pairing was Italy-Sweden.
