The fifteenth of the series of congresses held annually at the Christmas and New Year break was begun in the late afternoon of Thursday, December 27, at White Rock Pavilion. The meeting becomes more and more of an international character and that just closed was generally held to be quite the strongest, as regards the general quality of the players, of the series. Note was taken, too, of the increasing proportion of players with youth on their side. Source: BritBase viewer page. |
