VIII International Tournament “City of Alicante”

From the middle to the end of November, the eighth “City of Alicante” International Tournament was held under the organisation of the Alicante Chess Federation. Ten players representing five countries took part.

The report described a compact and evenly balanced round-robin in which the Spanish representatives faced experienced foreign masters. Particular attention was given to the decisive games and to the struggle for the leading places, with the final standings illustrating how little separated the main contenders.

The magazine supplied the final table together with selected games from the tournament.
