Zuidema loses the title to the Russian master Genna Sosonko, who settled in the Netherlands via Israel. This required a three-player playoff between Zuidema, Enklaar and Sosonko, who shared first place in the regular twelve-player tournament. Sosonko wins it with 2½ points and earns nine hundred guilders in addition to the title. |
