Tournament Review

For the first time in history, there is no one among the participants who has to combine participation in the championship with work. The twelve-player tournament in Zeeland, this time with Donner, but without Prins, yielded two winners: veteran Hans Bouwmeester and the 23-year-old Amsterdam student Hans Ree. The short playoff match, which takes place a few months later in The Hague, is won by Ree, 2 ½-1½.
