Four of nine participants of the 7th Club Championship were contenders for medals: Real Madrid, Ruy López Paluzie, Chardenet and Unión Graciense, yet the latter were out of the race once they lost to Ruy López 3½-½. With last round to go the standing were as follows: Ruy López 21½, Chardenet 21, Real 21. Real beat Ruy López in the decisive match yet the two were overtaken by Chardenet who beat strong Alcoy team.
